Obituary for Thomas "Tommy" Tullos
Funeral services for Thomas “Tommy” Edward Tullos of Newellton, La. will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 3:30pm at First Baptist Church in Newellton, LA. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm. Interment will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Young’s Community Funeral Home.
Tommy was born on Dec. 13, 1955 in El Paso, Tx and passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 67. He graduated from Newellton High School in 1973 and married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Janet Hankins, on March 23, 1974.
Tommy had several careers over the years, including exterminator and barber. He worked many years at Goldman Equipment Company, making sure farmers across Tensas Parish had what they needed to keep the tractors running. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Newellton and loved his church family. He was eager to serve and help others when his health allowed. He loved fishing, hunting, and growing the best tomatoes you ever tasted.
Tommy showed us all what strength and hope through pain and adversity look like. He was tough, strong, and kind. No matter what pain he faced, he would always tell you that he was fine.
Tommy is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa, and his father, Edward Elmo Tullos.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie R. Tullos, son-in-law Robert D. Jenkins, Jr. and grandchildren Toby, Bailey and Louis Jenkins of Raleigh, N.C.; his daughter Sonya Landry, son-in-law Shane Landry and grandchildren Drew, Chase and Luke Landry of Lafayette, La.; his mother, Lorene Wright of Ball, La.; 2 siblings and their spouses: Michael and Sandy Tullos of Pineville, La. and Regina and Jeff Caubarreaux of Marksville, La.
