Martin was born July 27, 1987 in Comonfort, Guanajuato, Mexico and passed from this life on December 11, 2023 in Monroe, LA at the age of 36. He was a unique person with an infectious personality who was a friend to many, never met a stranger, and his smile could light up a room and make anyone’s day just a little brighter. He loved to joke around and make people laugh and could carry on a conversation with anyone for hours. Even though Martin was diagnosed with cancer, from day one he would tell the doctors that he was going to beat it. His strong faith would encourage a person to believe that they could do anything they set their mind to. Martin’s main passion was his family. He believed family came first, and he showed his belief by his actions and how he was always supporting his wife and children in anything they were involved in. He cherished Victoria, his wife, and he was the love of her life. He also had a loving and compassionate heart, willing to help anyone who needed it. When his own wife’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, he told her he wanted to take her place and carry that burden for her, not knowing he himself would be diagnosed with the same. He was a devoted husband, father, son, son-in-law, and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed, and his family and friends look forward to the day when they will be reunited again. Martin was a long-time devoted employee of San Marcos Mexican Restaurant in Winnsboro, LA.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francisco Barrera Paz and Luisa Nolasco Gonzales; and his maternal grandmother, Antonia Bustamante Bautista.
