James "Jimbo" B. Finley
Funeral services with military honors for Mr. James “Jimbo” B. Finley, of West Monroe, will be 2:00PM Saturday, October 7, 2023 in the chapel of Young’s Community Memorial Winnsboro with Bro. Roy Skipper and Bro. Rickey Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, Friday, October 6, 2023, at the funeral home.

Mr. Finley was born January 4, 1948 in West Columbia, TX and passed from this life on September 29, 2023 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 75. He was of the Baptist faith, served his country in the United States Marines Corp, and was a truck driver for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, especially duck hunting, fishing, and working on lawn mowers, trucks and cars. Jimbo was a big FORD fan, and also enjoyed wood-working, building just about anything he ever wanted to. He was known for being a prankster and jokester, always making people laugh and finding the humor in just about any situation. His biggest passion was his family, especially his children and grandchildren, whom he appointed each of them a nickname to answer to. If his family ever heard their real name being called by him, they knew for sure they were in trouble. More importantly, he instilled in them basic skills, responsibilities, respect for others, and a strong work ethic they will use for a lifetime. Jimbo was a generous, caring person who would give the shirt off his back and a helping hand to whomever needed it. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Finley; his parents, Earl and Margaret Finley; his daughter, Shanna Finley “Tadpole”; one brother, Bubba Finley; and one sister, Faye Cooper.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Finley “Punkin” of West Monroe; his siblings, Martin Finley, Sr. of Columbia, MS, Robert Finley and wife, Vivian of Newellton, Diane Sapien and husband, Vince, and Clyde Finley, all of Jacksonville, NC, David Finley, Sr. of Columbia, MS; four grandchildren, Chesney “Peanut” Griffin of Las Vegas, NV, Aubrey Bradford “Moe” and girlfriend Carson Smith “Red” of Monroe, Kailynn Wooldridge “Tutti Fruiti” and Keira Moore “Cricket”, both of West Monroe; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Fussell, David “Bubba” Simpson, Brad Smith, Chesney Griffin “Peanut”, Aubrey Bradford “Moe”, Charlie Campbell, Bruce Green, Donald Moree, John Browning, Jr., and William Browning.
