Funeral services for Mr. Dewayne E. Nugent of Baton Rouge, will be 10:00AM Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in the chapel of Young’s Community Memorial Winnsboro, with Brother Mac Bellmore, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at South Central Baptist Cemetery near Wisner under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial. Visitation will be from 9:00AM until time-of-service Tuesday at the funeral home. Dewayne enjoyed woodworking, jigsaw puzzles and all puzzles, painting and coloring pictures. In his working career he was a paramedic.

Mr. Nugent was born May 15, 1939 in Pineville, LA and passed from this life on June 15, 2023 in Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 84. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Baton Rouge.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Letha Nugent; his first wife and mother of his children, Shirley Nugent; his parents, Charlie and Ada Nugent; two sisters, Maudine Smith and Cleo Vidrine; and infant brother, D. Nugent.

Survivors include two daughters, Lydora Shuff (Michael Chauff) of Prairieville, and Dorene Lee (Larry Giles) of Pride; one sister, Nelda Smith and husband, Billy of West Monroe; one brother, Richard Cox and wife, Francis; also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lee, Leonard Lee, Jr., Butch Shuff, Michael Chauff, Larry Giles.

Honorary Pallbearer is Bufford Vidrine.
