Obituary for Betty Sue Sikes (Trahern)
Services for Betty Sue Sikes, 81, of Wisner, LA, will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at South Central Baptist Church, Wisner, LA with Bro. Larry Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow in South Central Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 12:00 P.M.– 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of South Central Baptist Church in Wisner.
Sue was born to the union of William Trahern, Sr. and Mary Campbell Trahern on February 22, 1942, and passed from this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at her home. She is preceded in death by her father, William Trahern, Sr.; mother, Mary Trahern; son, Mike Sikes; brother, Ruben Trahern, Jr.; sister, Linda Trahern McNease; and a brother, Allen Trahern.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her husband, J.L. Sikes; daughter, Debbie and husband Eddie Miller (Wisner); daughter, Michelle Sikes; grandchildren, Chad Miller and wife Regena (Wisner); Kristy Miller (Wisner); Jamie Sikes and wife Jennifer (Wisner); Jeremy Sikes (Monterey); Jessi Gillespie and husband Cameron (Wisner); great grands, Wade Miller and wife Bethanny; Abby Miller, Alayna Spearman and husband John; Hunter Veuleman, Austin Veuleman, Gaven Gillespie, Rylie Sikes, and Peyton Sikes; great-great-grands, Tucker, Kolten, Ashton, and Wyatt, Westen Ray Veuleman, and Weston Grant Miller; a sister-in-law; Jeanette Trahern Grasshoff; special nieces and nephews, Gene and Melissa Trahern, Janae and Gene Hilliard, and Robin Trahern. She is also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews. Special friends of the family are David Cook, Bro. Larry Eubanks and Bro Mike Devillier.
Pallbearers will be Gene Trahern, Gene Hilliard, Cameron Gillespie, Jamie Sikes, Nicholas Hilliard, and Chad Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Veuleman, Austin Veuleman,Wade Miller, and Jeremy Sikes.
